Bloomba

Here’s an e-mail program that got top ranking in the August issue of Consumer Reports. Bloomba is “a next-generation email client built on innovative technologies proven to save you time and money by simplifying and organizing your email experience.” Here are some features (here are the details of these features):

  • Smart Email Search

  • Smart Address Auto Complete

  • Import and Export:

  • Smart Grouping

  • Spam Protection

  • Subscriptions

  • Fast File

  • Alias Accounts

  • Smart User Interface

  • Smart Download

  • Smart Received Date

But wait, there’s more. It’s also integrated with a spam blocking program called SAproxy. From what I’ve seen on the sites so far they look promising. I’m off to download my free trial now. (I didn’t have to worry about spam until Comcast took over my attbi account. Sup with that Comcast???)

  1. Set-up was a BREEZE! It imported evrything from Outlook via a wizard. And so far I like the features. I still need to figure out how to keep it synched with Outlook, or better yet, how to get it to sync with my Palm and my Yahoo Calendar/Mail/Address Book.

  4. I have been using Bloomba for a day now and I already find it pretty good. Is there a way to keep the address book synced with Palm or Outlook?

  5. You said that Consumer Reports gave Bloomba a top ranking, but that’s not really correct. What they did was recommend SAProxy from Stata as a spam-blocker. Now, Bloomba includes SAProxy, but they didn’t recommend the email client itself.
