Gaelle * Transient Naked Music CD * Out November
16th |
|
|
When Gaelle (pronounced guy-elle) left home at 18
and found herself in Atlanta, a friend hooked her with a job singing
vocals on a house music track. Little did Gaelle know that she was
getting involved with the multi-talented, but then virtually
unknown, Chris Brann, the brain behind Wamdue Project and P’taah. No
one was more surprised than Gaelle herself when “King of My Castle,”
the song they collaborated on, became a club classic. She’s since
worked with artists like southern hip-hop don Cee-Lo and R&B
star Jagged Edge, proving to be a versatile
vocalist.
Gaelle’s smoky, sensual singing style and musical
prowess are even more polished on Transient, her debut solo
album. Gaelle took control over her sound by producing the album in
her own studio in collaboration with partner Eric Stamile. Like
Bjork and Beth Orton, Gaelle’s music is a true _expression of her
soul since she creates it from scratch, blending poetry with
hypnotic electronic b eats. “Rain” is a sensual piano-driven song
full of organic sound elements and emotional longing. The jazzy
melodies of “Love You More” showcase Gaelle’s far-reaching range,
blending broken beats and R&B vocals. Transient is
distinctly modern yet rooted in classic pop songwriting.
