Check out the New Yorker’s article on Aaron McGruder, creator of the Boondocks. I haven’t read it yet, but I will as soon as the market calms down today.
OK, now I’ve read it…. It’s a little long-winded but it does give a good look at McGruder’s life. Who knew being a cartoonist was so stressful? After reading that I know why we haven’t seen much of the other characters besides Huey, Ceasar, Riley and Granddad. Hopefully the animated series will indeed bring back some of the flavor of the earlier days.

It’s hilarious and on point. This cat needs his own show or something. He’s a little chatty, however.
Thanks for posting this!
I’m slower than usual, man. Had seen your site being mentioned all over the place, but never actually got to it. I have some catching up to do. Thanks for this McGruder post.
Aaron McGruder is just a nobody trying to be somebody talking trash. He’s stirring up sh_t just to bring attention to himself.
…Hooray!, Aaron McGruder has found his toilet mouth and can turn a head or two, just like the high-schooler in the grocery store trying to shock all the adults he can.
Grow up, and get a little more intelligent.
There’s nothing wrong with McGruder using his toilet mouth! I like how he tells it like it is.
