Along the lines of what I was talking about yesterday with spelling and vocabulary in blog posts… Here’s a post which asks if blog posts are first drafts. I agree 100% with the author — even if a post is thrown together quickly the author should at least proofread and spell-check that post before publishing.

Mike,
If you liked that article, you may also find interesting Jonathon Delacour’s post on “weblog ethics” where he debates whether or not authors should update their blogs or whether that is “dishonest.”
It’s at:

Word. The minute typos are found is the same minute credibility is lost. I’ll admit, sometimes they get by me, but I usually copy/paste into Word for spellcheck before publishing, and if I have more time I re-read the post once it’s up to see if changes should be made.
But then, some bloggers just don’t care, which is ok I suppose… they just can’t expect to be treated as reputable online “journalists”.
