I just took a break from gorging myself on Nerds (damn that leftover Halloween candy) to go check the mail. I was glad to see that my first check from Google AdSense arrived today. The amount of money is nothing to write home (or blog) about, but I’ll take it. Free money is always welcome in my wallet. Now if I can just figure out a way to generate the kind of cash that Matt’s getting over at PVRBlog. This also makes me wonder how well the ads are working for the advertisers. I don’t think I’ve ever bought anything from an online ad but clearly somebody’s purchasing via those ads.

Hey…I hope you know you just broke the rules by posting about how much you made. There’s a guy on Webmaster World who’s going around reporting sites that break the Adsense TOS, so be careful homie. I personally would like to crack a glass Smirnoff Ice bottle over that guys head…
I’ve also wonder who’s buying stuff off those ads. I wish we were allowed to speak to the advertisers.

Thanks for the warning. I knew about that part of the TOS. That’s why I didn’t say any specific amounts. Matt gave way more detail than I did and he’s got a much higher profile. If Google drops me for the little bit of info I just posted then I’d rather not be part of the program.

mike is there a month delay on the payout? i.e. did you receive your $10,000 check for the september month in november or was it october’s payout that you got?
