I just found this new blog editing tool/front end called Zempt. Zempt ‘plays well’ with Movable Type by providing entry areas for ‘extended entries’ and ‘excerpts’. It even allows you to specify secondary categories, keywords, URLs to ping, and just about everything else you can specify in Movable Type. I think I just found a replacement for w.bloggar, which is a great tool. But these Movable Type specific features give Zempt the edge for me. And the spell checker works way better than w.bloggar’s. Very nice! The one thing I’m not seeing though, is a way to manage images. I guess that will be in version 0.4.
And thanks to Anil Dash. I found this on his daily links list. I don’t know how he does it, but Anil is everywhere.
editing to add – they also need to steal borrow w.bloggar’s HTML menu, along with the ability to create custom menu items for those ‘hard to reach’ tags. So until they add that and an images button, I’ll likely keep using w.bloggar to build my posts, then publish from Zempt. I’m sure all of these things will be added by the time version 1.0 comes out.
YEAH!! (that’s a ‘Trading Places’ yeah)
My recent move into management precludes me from developing software.
I kill me. 🙂
