I’ve also written articles regarding this very thing. With hip-hop videos and music becoming nothing more than free advertising for the corporate world. Why wouldn’t top flight artists sell the rights to have products mentioned and seen in the songs and videos? Much like the movies.
Personally, I’m a bit bored with the all the senseless materialism in lyrics and videos that have become the dreams of every teenager, but in the same breath they could be much smarter about the brands they promote.
